Mummar Gaddafi is dead

the former Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, died of his wounds on Thursday as fighters struggling to complete a survey of eight months of age against their government invaded his hometown of Sirte, Libya's interim rulers, he said.





His death, which came soon after his capture near Sirte, is the most dramatic event in the spring riots that have toppled Arab rulers in Egypt and Tunisia, and threatened the continuance in power of the leaders of Syria and Yemen .
"He (Gaddafi) was also hit in the head," said an official of the National Transitional Council Abdel Majid Mlegta Reuters. "There was a lot of shots against their group, and died."
Mlegta Reuters said Gaddafi, who was in his 60 years, was captured and wounded in both legs early Thursday while trying to flee in a convoy of NATO planes attacked. He said he had been taken by ambulance.
There was no independent confirmation of his comments.
A fighter anti-Gaddafi, Gaddafi said he had been found hiding in a hole in the ground and told him "Do not shoot, do not shoot" the men grabbed him.
